Scope and Official Context

The standard CCAT contains 50 questions in 15 minutes across Verbal Ability, Math and Logic, and Spatial Reasoning.

Criteria does not publish a guaranteed narrow count for every numerical subtype in every live administration. Third-party topic counts are provider estimates, not an official blueprint.

Core Question Families

Arithmetic

Expect basic operations with whole numbers, negatives and simple order of operations.

Example:

18 + 6 × 4 = ?

Work backwards or isolate the unknown.

For estimation, replace awkward values with nearby numbers that are easier to calculate.

Cancel Before Multiplying

In fractions and ratios, simplify common factors before performing large multiplications.

Work From the Answer Choices

When options are widely separated, estimation or substitution may be faster than a full exact solution.

Check the Direction

Before calculating, ask whether the answer should be larger, smaller, positive, negative or within a plausible range.
