HireSelect Login Problems: Legacy Name and Candidate Access
HireSelect is a former name used for parts of Criteria’s assessment service. Current candidate access normally begins through the employer invitation or Criteria Assessment Center rather than an employer dashboard.
When access fails, identify whether the problem concerns:
- the invitation link;
- Event ID;
- browser session;
- JavaScript or cookies;
- internet connection;
- expired deadline;
- completed event;
- employer-account page opened by mistake.
Do not create a duplicate candidate record or use another person’s event.

Why You May Still See “HireSelect”
Criteria’s current Terms of Use describe its service as including features formerly known as HireSelect. Older employer emails, bookmarks and third-party articles may therefore use that name, but candidates should follow the current invitation and Criteria candidate support routes. Do not create an employer trial or administrator account to locate a candidate event.
For the current access process, use Criteria assessment login. This page remains useful for legacy-name searches and redirects candidates to the present platform.

HireSelect Candidate Access Is Invitation-Based
The employer creates an assessment event and sends a candidate link.
Candidates should not attempt to sign into the recruiter’s HireSelect dashboard.
Use:
- the original invitation;
- the regional Criteria Assessment Center when returning;
- your Event ID;
- official candidate support.
Read the Criteria assessment login guide for the general access process.
Employer Login Page Instead of Candidate Event
If the page requests an employer email account or subscription login, it may be the administrative portal.
Return to:
- the employer’s original invitation;
- the Criteria message containing the Testing Center URL;
- the candidate Assessment Center specified by official guidance.
Do not create a free employer account to reach a candidate event.
Invalid Testing Center URL
Links can be damaged when copied from an email or messaging system.
Check for:
- a line break;
- missing final characters;
- added punctuation;
- spaces inside the URL;
- a security tool rewriting the link;
- an expired event.
Copy the full URL from the original source and paste it directly into the browser.
Event ID Problems
An Event ID identifies one assigned event.
When it is rejected:
- check letters, numbers, and hyphens;
- avoid adding spaces;
- use the correct regional Assessment Center;
- confirm that the event belongs to the same email and role;
- check whether a replacement invitation was sent.
Do not guess IDs or use one found online.
Use the Criteria Event ID guide.
JavaScript and Cookies
Criteria’s assessment application relies on JavaScript, and its candidate FAQ advises that cookies and JavaScript should be enabled when returning to an event.
If these are blocked:
- allow them for the official site where permitted;
- disable only the extension that is demonstrably interfering, not all security controls;
- use a current supported browser;
- reload from the official link.
On a managed work device, ask the device administrator rather than bypassing policy.
Internet and Loading Errors
A weak or changing connection can interrupt loading.
Before retrying:
- confirm the connection is stable;
- stop large downloads or streaming;
- avoid switching networks;
- close duplicate assessment tabs;
- keep the Event ID and error message available.
Do not assume the timer paused during a disruption.
Browser Problems
An outdated or heavily restricted browser can cause errors.
Follow current Criteria instructions rather than a third-party universal-browser claim.
Review:
- whether the browser is current;
- JavaScript and cookie settings;
- pop-up or content blockers;
- private-browsing restrictions;
- organization-managed policies.
Use the CCAT browser-requirements guide after that route exists.
Mobile or Tablet Problems
Criteria supports multiple device types, but candidates are warned when a specific assessment is incompatible with mobile or tablet use.
If the page displays an incompatibility warning, use a supported device.
Do not force desktop mode or bypass a warning.
Use the CCAT mobile-device guide after that route exists.
Expired Event
The employer controls the deadline.
Criteria support cannot grant an employer extension.
Contact the recruiter with:
- your name;
- role;
- event date;
- concise description of the issue;
- request for authorized next steps.
Do not demand a retest or create another event.
Event Already Completed
A completed status may mean the event was submitted successfully.
Preserve:
- completion page;
- confirmation email;
- date and time;
- Event ID.
When the status is unexpected, ask official support or the employer to confirm receipt.
Do not repeatedly reopen or resubmit the event.
Wrong Email Address
An employer may have created the event using the email from the application.
When a different address was entered:
- do not create multiple candidate identities;
- contact the recruiter;
- explain the mismatch;
- follow authorized correction instructions.
Do not impersonate another email identity.
Name Does Not Match
Minor formatting differences can occur, but a materially incorrect candidate identity should be reported before completing the event.
Contact the employer or official support.
Do not complete an assessment assigned to another person.
Technical Problem After the Timer Starts
Record:
Date and local time:
Time zone:
Event ID:
Device and browser:
Exact error:
Whether timer had started:
Whether answers remained visible:
Whether the event resumed:
Where permitted, capture the error without recording secure question content.
Use the CCAT technical-problems guide after that route exists.
Do Not Create a Duplicate Account
A second account can create:
- duplicate candidate records;
- conflicting events;
- uncertainty about the valid result;
- an unauthorized second attempt.
Only create or use another account when the employer or official support explicitly instructs you.
Contact Order
Use this order when possible:
- live error instructions;
- official Criteria candidate support;
- employer or recruiter for deadline, identity, or retake decisions;
- device administrator for managed-device restrictions.
CCATPracticeTest.com cannot inspect or restore a HireSelect event.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I not log in to HireSelect?
Candidates normally use an invitation or Assessment Center rather than the employer dashboard. Check the complete link, Event ID, JavaScript, cookies, connection, and deadline.
Should I create a HireSelect employer account?
No. Employer accounts are for recruiters and administrators.
What if my Event ID is invalid?
Recheck the complete ID, use the correct regional Assessment Center, and contact official support if it remains invalid.
Can Criteria extend an expired event?
The employer controls extensions. Contact the recruiter.
Can I restart after a browser error?
Follow official recovery instructions. Do not create a replacement event without authorization.
What if the event says completed?
Preserve the confirmation and ask the employer or official support when receipt is unclear.
Can I use a second email address?
Not unless authorized. A duplicate identity can create conflicting records.
