CCAT Confidentiality: Scores, Questions, Privacy & Sharing
CCAT confidentiality involves several different types of information:
- candidate identity data;
- assessment responses;
- raw scores and percentiles;
- score reports;
- Event IDs and assessment links;
- technical and device information;
- proctoring information where configured;
- secure assessment questions.
Criteria’s Privacy Policy effective July 20, 2026 states that job-applicant assessment scores are shared with the potential employer for which the assessment was taken and are not shared with another prospective employer or other third party unless the relevant parties expressly consent.
The employer can have its own privacy notice, retention practices, and legal responsibilities.
This page provides general candidate information, not legal advice.

Current Privacy and Security Position
Criteria’s Privacy Policy is effective July 20, 2026. It distinguishes candidate information, assessment response data and score reports, and states that applicant scores are shared with the potential employer connected to that assessment rather than other prospective employers or unrelated third parties without express consent. Employer privacy notices and applicable law can add further obligations or rights.
Criteria’s current security materials also emphasize data minimization, confidentiality and secure handling. Separate from personal-data privacy, live questions and assessment materials must not be copied, photographed, reconstructed or uploaded to another service.

Who Receives the CCAT Result?
Criteria’s candidate guidance states that employers receive the raw score and percentile after the assessment.
The employer or organization administering the event can access results through the Criteria platform or reporting process.
Candidate access can vary.
A candidate may receive:
- a raw score;
- a percentile;
- category information;
- general feedback;
- a progression decision;
- no detailed numerical report.
Read the CCAT results guide and score-report guide.
Are CCAT Scores Shared With Other Employers?
Criteria’s current privacy policy states that it will only share job-applicant assessment scores with the potential employer for which the applicant took the assessment.
It also states that scores are not shared with another prospective employer or other third party unless the relevant parties expressly consent.
This does not mean that:
- no service provider processes any candidate data;
- the employer cannot retain a report under its own lawful process;
- every jurisdiction has identical rights;
- a candidate can automatically transfer a score to another employer.
Read the current privacy notice for the event.
Use the CCAT score-sharing guide for broader interpretation.
Does the Employer Own the Score?
Avoid oversimplified ownership language.
The employer receives and can use the result within the recruitment process, subject to its agreements, privacy notices, and applicable law.
Criteria processes assessment information through its service.
Candidates can have privacy rights that depend on location and context.
This page cannot determine legal ownership or retention rights for one event.
Can You Share Your Own Score?
A candidate can choose to discuss a score they received, subject to any agreement and local requirements.
Before sharing a report publicly, remove:
- full name;
- email address;
- Event ID;
- employer name where private;
- assessment link;
- barcodes or unique identifiers;
- completion date if sensitive;
- category details you do not want public.
Do not publish another person’s report.
Can You Send Your Score to Another Employer?
Do not assume that one employer-assigned result can be transferred.
Another employer may:
- assign a new event;
- use a different assessment;
- use different role context;
- decline an external report;
- request official verification.
Ask the new employer rather than sending a screenshot as though it were an official transfer.
What Is an Event ID?
The Event ID identifies an assessment event.
Criteria states that it may appear beneath the Testing Center URL or after the candidate opens the assessment center and confirms identifying information.
Keep it private.
Use it only with:
- the employer;
- authorized recruiter;
- official Criteria support.
Do not send it to CCATPracticeTest.com.
Use the Criteria Event ID guide.
Why the Assessment Link Must Remain Private
The link can provide access to the candidate’s event or assessment center.
Do not:
- post it on a forum;
- paste it into a public chat;
- send it to another candidate;
- use another person’s link;
- submit it to an AI system;
- include it in a public screenshot.
Use the original employer and Criteria routes for support.
Are CCAT Questions Confidential?
Live assessment questions are secure content.
Do not:
- photograph questions;
- record the screen;
- copy wording;
- publish diagrams;
- share answer choices;
- reconstruct question banks;
- submit live questions to AI;
- sell recalled content.
General discussion of question families is different from reproducing secure items.
Can You Discuss the Test Afterward?
You can discuss general experience without reproducing secure content.
Safe general statements can include:
- the test felt time pressured;
- numerical questions were challenging;
- you did not finish all 50;
- the environment had a technical issue.
Do not publish exact wording, answer choices, diagrams, or recalled rules from live questions.
Why Question Confidentiality Matters
Secure content supports:
- fairness between candidates;
- score validity;
- assessment integrity;
- protection of the item bank;
- reliable employer use.
Leaked questions can disadvantage candidates who follow the rules and can reduce the meaning of scores.
Can You Upload a Live Question to AI?
No.
This can create both test-security and privacy concerns.
Do not upload:
- screenshots;
- question text;
- answer options;
- Event IDs;
- employer instructions;
- candidate reports.
Use the CCAT AI tools guide for safe preparation workflows.
What Data Can Criteria Collect?
Criteria’s current privacy policy describes categories that can include:
- contact information;
- employment information;
- correspondence;
- device and usage information;
- assessment-related information;
- video interview information where applicable.
The exact data for one event depends on the service and configuration.
Criteria also uses vendors and subprocessors to provide services.
Review the current policy rather than relying on a simplified old summary.
What Data Can the Employer Use?
The employer’s use of candidate information is governed by its privacy notice, agreements, recruitment process, and applicable law.
Possible purposes can include:
- processing the application;
- reviewing assessment results;
- maintaining recruitment records;
- making hiring decisions;
- monitoring or improving selection processes.
Refer to the employer’s privacy notice for event-specific information.
Proctoring and Confidentiality
Criteria currently offers AI Proctoring as an employer-configurable option.
Its product information describes possible image, audio, and screen-related monitoring features.
Do not assume that every CCAT event uses proctoring or every feature.
Review:
- the invitation;
- consent notice;
- permission requests;
- live instructions;
- employer privacy information.
Read Is the CCAT proctored?.
Can You Refuse Proctoring?
This page cannot determine your legal or recruitment options.
Before beginning, review the notice and contact the employer when:
- you have a privacy concern;
- you cannot satisfy a device requirement;
- you need an accommodation;
- the environment is unsuitable;
- the requested permissions are unclear.
Do not begin and then attempt to bypass configured monitoring.
Accommodations and Sensitive Information
Send accommodation requests only through the authorized employer or assessment process.
Do not publish:
- medical records;
- diagnoses;
- disability details;
- approved adjustment documents;
- private recruiter correspondence.
CCATPracticeTest.com cannot approve an accommodation.
How Long Are Scores Retained?
Retention can depend on Criteria’s policies, employer settings, agreements, applicable law, and the purpose of processing.
Do not publish one universal retention period without current authoritative evidence for the relevant event.
Review the current Criteria and employer privacy notices.
Can You Request Access or Deletion?
Privacy rights can depend on jurisdiction and the relationship between Criteria, the employer, and the candidate.
Criteria’s privacy materials provide routes for privacy requests and jurisdiction-specific notices.
The employer may also have a privacy-contact route.
This page does not provide legal advice or guarantee a particular outcome.
What to Include in a Privacy Request
Use the official form or contact route.
Provide only the information needed to identify the request, such as:
- name;
- email used for the event;
- employer or event context;
- Event ID where requested through the secure route;
- the specific privacy request.
Do not post the request publicly.
How to Share a Technical Screenshot Safely
Where official support requests a screenshot:
- capture the error rather than a secure question;
- hide unrelated personal information;
- send it through the official support route;
- avoid public image hosts;
- do not include login credentials.
Do not photograph secure assessment content.
Score Reports and Public Forums
Before posting a report, consider whether it exposes:
- identity;
- employer;
- Event ID;
- score details;
- ability profile;
- recruitment status;
- unique report links.
A public post can be copied or indexed.
Use a generic text summary if discussion is necessary.
Independent Preparation and Privacy
Independent providers can have their own accounts, cookies, analytics, payment processes, and privacy policies.
Before purchasing, review:
- the provider’s privacy policy;
- account requirements;
- payment handling;
- data retention;
- support route;
- current access terms.
AptitudeTests.org currently provides independent CCAT preparation.
